OUR
STORY
Prayer Band Pentecostal Church was formed in 1964 when a small group of friends started a prayer group in the house of Mother Hale. As the group grew, the Holy Spirit told Deacon Eddie Williams it was time for him to step into full-time ministry and start a church. The Holy Spirit impressed on him to teach and preach His word and to rightly divide it. It also expressed to him to be family-oriented, express loving-kindness, and inclusively accept all who love the Lord.
When Rev. Williams went to register his church, he had not come up with a name, but as soon as he entered the clerk's office to fill out the paperwork, the Holy Spirit told him, "You have a band of prayers," and Prayer Band Church was created!
Today, under the leadership of our new Pastor, Richard Rochelle, we continue to hold true to the principles laid out by the Holy Spirit through our founder. Pastor Rick brings renewed energy and vision to our mission, guiding us to stand firm on the Word of God, welcoming all who love the Lord, and rightly dividing the Word as we teach and preach about the gift of salvation.
